Q + A

What's the transportation situation? How do we get to your house?

We will have buses driving from the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Portsmouth to our house and back at various times throughout the evening. There will be plenty of parking on our road, just make sure you have a DD. BE WARNED: You will not find an Uber/Lyft at our house! We strongly recommend using the buses to get back to Portsmouth, where Ubers/Lyfts to wherever you are staying are easy to come by.

Where and when can I catch the bus to the wedding?

The bus will travel to and from the Hilton Garden Inn at 100 High St, Portsmouth, NH. The first two buses will start loading at 3:20 and will leave at 3:30-3:40. You want to be on one of those buses if you're going to make it to the ceremony! If you miss the bus, just grab an Uber to the house and take the bus back to Portsmouth at the end of the night. Buses will be available to go back to Portsmouth any time after the ceremony, running until a little after 10 PM.

What's the dress code?

Comfortable and classy (no t shirts, no tuxedos). A dress or suit is a safe bet, but we're not picky! Keep in mind the wedding is on a lawn, under a tent, rain or shine. Stilettos are probably not going to work. Check the weather report a few days beforehand and plan accordingly! We don't have heaters under the tent, so bring layers if it's going to be cool-- or just keep warm on the dance floor.

What is there do in the Portsmouth area?

Plenty! If you have your kids, go to the Seacoast Science Center or the Children's Museum of New Hampshire (just north in Dover). If you're a history nerd check out Strawberry Banke museum, the USS Albacore museum, or many of the preserved historical houses in the downtown. Walk along the river through Prescott Park, or the beaches in Rye (which are gorgeous, but relatively uncrowded, in fall). Grab a beer at Liar's Bench, Great Rhythm, Stoneface, or Loaded Question. Eat at Street, Surf, Cure, The Black Trumpet (where Shannon and Nate had their first wedding) or Anju (where Nate and Shannon had their first date). Or just walk around the quaint downtown and check out the shops!

Is there an after party?

Nothing formal, but we recommend going to the Wilder in downtown Portsmouth if you want to continue the celebration. It's open until 1 (a rarity in Portsmouth!) and has great cocktails (plus solid food). It's located about 2 blocks from where the bus will drop you off.

Where should we stay?

We highly recommend staying in the Portsmouth area. Lodging in Portsmouth itself can be a bit limited, but Dover, Kittery, or some of the other surrounding towns may have more options. Portsmouth is the cultural hub of the area, and this is where buses to the wedding will leave from and where they will drop you off. We blocked off some rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn downtown, but stay wherever suits your taste and budget. Room block link: https://group.hiltongardeninn.com/53qets

Is this a kid-friendly wedding?

Yes! Let us know in the RSVP if your kids are planning to come. However we won't have babysitters, so you'll still have to keep an eye on your gremlins.

Didn't you already get married? What gives?

We sure did! We had a very small intimate ceremony in January 2024. Now we're ready for the big party!
